Flying
Private pilot since December 2019, current on a Cherokee 180 and checked out in the Extra 300L aerobatic when someone lets me. The airplane that matters most is the Cozy Mark IV — a two-place composite canard my father and I built ourselves, bulkhead by bulkhead, in our garage. It lives on the South East Ramp at Sanford now, and it has carried me a thousand hours.
Diving
SSI certified since 2016, deepest working dive at 41.2 metres in a black-water Amazon channel deploying a pressure housing I machined myself. All five marine turtle species handled in rehabilitation — loggerhead, Kemp’s ridley, leatherback, hawksbill, green — under NMFS 19496 and FWC 243.
Surfing
Mostly New Smyrna and Ponce Inlet before the lab opens for the day. A short-period Atlantic beach break is unglamorous, but it teaches patience and surface-interval judgement better than any advisor could.
Photography
First place, 2020 Advanced Marine Biology Photography Competition. 14mm for reef walls and fissures, 100mm macro for the high-speed insect rig, 200mm for anything with tusks. Journeyman Photography runs drone documentation for construction and commercial sites on the side.
